Alinea Murphy

Alinea has seventeen years of experience within the multi-family property management industry. Eight of those initial years were spent excelling at the on-site level where she was promoted to a key managerial position within one year of being hired with Bryant Management. As a manager, Alinea spearheaded marketing initiatives and guided top-performing teams in achieving record-high revenues, as well as attained 99% occupancy rates numerous times. In December of 2011, Alinea earned a Bachelor's degree majoring in Accounting from the University of Houston - Downtown. With the degree in hand, Alinea was introduced to the corporate side of the multi-family property management industry as a staff accountant for eighteen multifamily assets for Ascension.

 

As an accountant, she ensured timely delivery of financial statements to all affiliated institutions, processed large construction draw invoices, and requested funding for capital expenditures. In December of 2018, Alinea graduated with a Master’s degree again majoring in accounting from the University of Houston - Downtown with a 4.0 GPA and was immediately promoted to Assistant Controller within Ascension. For all properties managed by Ascension, her responsibilities included but were not limited to, monitoring cash balances and process fund requests, responsible for procedures when properties were bought or sold, and monitored/managed the accounting team of five to ensure all tasks were completed as needed. Alinea is able to sit for the CPA exam and is currently in the process of studying for the exams.

 

Alinea is an astute professional with solid accounting credentials and a proven background in areas such as cash handling, reporting, payroll, cost reduction, budget adherence, and financial analysis. She is adept in utilizing such programs as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, software, such as Quickbooks, Onesite, Propertyware, Resman, and Yardi Property Management.

 

Today Alinea oversees accounting for Hazel Management and all the properties within their portfolio.
